Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic drainage at Fysio Lindeman is performed according to the Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) method developed by Vodder. Milou Lindeman completed her training and specialization in this technique in 2010 within physiotherapy. This treatment is highly suitable for recovery after trauma, swelling, amputations and pregnancy-related edema.

Manual lymphatic drainage is a gentle massage technique focused on stimulating the lymphatic system. Through specific, calm movements, the body is supported in removing excess fluid—both visible and invisible edema—more efficiently through the lymphatic pathways.

Dr. Emil Vodder

The method was developed in 1932 by Dr. Emil Vodder, a Danish biologist, together with his wife. The Vodder method is unique in that it not only supports the draining function of the lymphatic system, but also has a nourishing and cleansing effect on body fluids and overall body balance.

Manual lymphatic drainage is deeply relaxing and positively influences several bodily processes. The treatment may help improve circulation, reduce stagnation, support the immune system and lower stress levels. It also supports the hormonal system and the body’s fluid balance in a natural way.
